Corinne McIntyre Peaceful Sail on Lnekin Bay

There are some things a pandemic cannot touch: our rocky coast, the ocean’s swell, wind in our face. Such is the reassuring vision in Peaceful Sail on Linekin Bay  by Corinne McIntyre, a plein-air and studio painter from East Boothbay. Corinne’s art is balm for our uncertain souls, and such is what the artist intends with this image.

“This was painted early May of last year and finished in my studio March 31 this year. The forsythia was on its way out and there was a lone sailboat slowly making its way across the bay. It looked so calm.” She goes on to say the painting is intended “to give us a feeling and reminder of the peaceful times ahead.”

Corinne is committed to community. As a co-founder of Plein Air Painters of Maine (read about that here), she longs not only for warmer weather but also for the day when she might again set her easel up alongside her fellow artists.

That day will come.
